What is the best Genshin Impact Raiden build?

Raiden Shogun is a five-star electro polearm wielder. She’s an incredibly powerful unit, capable of dishing out a dizzying amount of damage in both DPS and sub-DPS roles. In fact, the Raiden National team places her at the forefront of one of the strongest lineups in the game, and she is an extremely popular choice in the Spiral Abyss.

Raiden’s best weapon is her signature five-star polearm, Engulfing Lightning. Her best artifact set is Emblem of Severed Fate. When picking artifacts for her, we recommend prioritizing attack%, crit, and energy recharge.

For leveling talents, we recommend prioritizing Raiden’s elemental burst first, then her elemental skill, while leaving her normal attack until last.

Raiden is a very flexible unit that synergizes with a wide range of teammates, especially those benefiting from electro reactions. She can deal a respectable level of personal damage even without much investment, has powerful free-to-play weapon choices, and is a strong DPS or sub-DPS even at C0. However, her early constellations are major upgrades, particularly her C2.

How to use Raiden

In combat, your top priority should be setting up Raiden’s buffs properly and condensing her damage.

You should always start a battle with Raiden’s elemental skill before switching to other characters. This imbues her allies with electro damage and sets up her Chakra Desiderata stacks. After this, use all other characters’ bursts before using Raiden’s to maximize the number of Chakra Desiderata stacks.

If you have an Anemo character equipped with Viridescent Venerer on Raiden’s team, aim to trigger the ten-second VV buff right before switching to Raiden to use her burst. Your Viridescent Anemo character should generally be the last of Raiden’s teammates to use their skill and burst before her, allowing them to swirl and trigger that tasty resistance shred.

To maximize Raiden’s burst, keep her on-field for its full duration and ensure that any buffs are set up beforehand.

What’s the best weapon for Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun?

Raiden’s signature weapon is the five-star polearm, Engulfing Lightning. It perfectly complements her kit by boosting both her energy recharge and attack. However, it is a limited banner weapon and may be pricey for low spenders or F2P players.

Raiden’s best F2P weapon is The Catch, especially strong at R5. It provides energy recharge, which is handy for batterying her elemental burst, freeing up her artifacts to allow for more offensive stats. Additionally, it boosts both her burst damage and crit rate, which is incredibly valuable since that’s where most of her damage comes from. So, as a free weapon obtained through fishing, it’s a real ‘catch’!

The Battle Pass weapon Deathmatch is also a solid choice for Raiden, especially at higher refinement ranks. In fact, at R5, it outperforms The Catch. However, acquiring it requires purchasing the premium Battle Pass and reaching level 30 five times, which can be costly and time-consuming.

Alternatively, most other five-star polearms serve as decent back-up options if you lack the above. Staff of Homa, Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, Calamity Queller, and Skyward Spine all complement her in various ways, depending on your build and playstyle. For a breakdown of how the different polearms compare to The Catch, check out the Keqingmains guide.

What are the best artifacts for Raiden Shogun?

The best artifact set for Raiden is Emblem of Severed Fate, which dramatically boosts her energy recharge and elemental burst damage. No other set comes close to this one, making it your primary choice.
