In the expansive world of Nintendo's Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players encounter a wealth of unique mounts. Among these, the legendary White Horse stands out as one of the most sought-after companions in the game. This beautiful creature not only boasts impressive stats but also holds a significant place in the lore of the game, being tied to Link's memories. Capturing this majestic horse can be both a thrilling and challenging experience, but with the right knowledge, you can secure this mount for your own adventures!
The journey to find the White Horse begins with understanding its location. Players must navigate the vast landscapes of Hyrule, using maps and guides to pinpoint the exact spot where this horse can be found. The Colina de Saffus is the key, and knowing this area will save you time and effort. As you embark on this quest, keep in mind that patience is essential; the White Horse is elusive and may require multiple attempts to capture.
Once you've located the White Horse, the real challenge begins. Approaching it without spooking it is crucial. Whether you choose to sneak up quietly or launch from above with a glider, the method of capture can significantly affect your success. After securing the horse, you'll need to register it at a stable to make it yours permanently. This process not only registers the horse but also allows you to unlock special rewards, enhancing your overall gameplay experience.

Capture the White Horse in Zelda: Breath of the Wild
This horse is the same one we see in Link's memories; it is completely white with a slightly blonde mane and tail. It's one of the best horses in the game, so let’s go into detail about how to obtain it.
Where to Find the White Horse in Zelda BotW?
The White Horse can be found on the Colina de Saffus, specifically at the location marked with the letter "d" on the map, heading north along the path. For reference, it is very close to the area where you find the 10th of the lost memories.
You will see it grazing in a very green area with plenty of grass at the foot of a hill. You can approach it in various ways: either stealthily from behind or, for a more spectacular entry, you can glide from above and land directly on its back to start taming it. Here’s how to tame mounts in BotW if you have any questions. However, be warned that you'll need two full circles of stamina if you want to avoid falling off!
Side Quest: The Quest for the White Horse
Once you’ve successfully mounted it, take it to the nearest stable, the Posta de la Llanura. You can reach this stable by taking the path that leads to the Puente de Manhala; cross it, continue forward, and you will find it on your right. Besides registering the horse, when you speak to Tonfar, you’ll complete the side quest "The Quest for the White Horse."
Upon completing this quest, you will receive the bridle and the royal saddle as rewards. Additionally, once registered, you'll see the characteristics of the White Horse, which include:
- Stamina: 5 stars
- Strength: 4 stars
- Speed: 3 stars
- Temperament: Wild
As we can see, this is a very interesting mount to obtain, both for the rewards and the horse itself.
