In just three years after the release of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix has stepped into the new generation of consoles with an exciting chapter in the series, Final Fantasy XV. This installment isn't just another game; it introduces thrilling innovations aimed at revolutionizing the franchise. For instance, the fast and fluid real-time combat system replaces the classic turn-based mechanics, featuring combos, summons, quick time events, and group attacks. Today, we're here to guide you on how to level up quickly in Final Fantasy XV!
So, how do you level up fast in Final Fantasy XV? This question is the cornerstone of every RPG player's journey. The expansive open world of Final Fantasy XV invites exploration, where players encounter numerous colossal enemies and various side quests. And yes, there’s a main story to follow as well!
To ensure you're well-equipped for both the main storyline and side missions, leveling up is essential. After spending some hours with Hajime Tabata's masterpiece on Xbox One, I can share some juicy tips to help you level up quickly during the early stages of the game.
During your adventure, reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption, your protagonists will have to sleep outdoors. Rest is crucial for survival in Final Fantasy XV. Why? Because resting is how you can level up and acquire new skills! Of course, it also helps you recover health. However, sleeping in the wild isn't your only option. There are three possibilities:
- Santuarios (to level up in Final Fantasy 15).
- Explanadas (to level up in Final Fantasy 15).
- Hoteles (note: hotels require gil, but they help level up quickly in Final Fantasy 15).
Cooking to Level Up
At any time, you can set up camp, but not just anywhere. First, you need to secure the area by eliminating any roaming enemies. Like true boy scouts, you'll gather around a campfire, although there won’t be any songs or guitars. If you've accumulated enough experience during missions and battles, you can invest it into increasing your level. Additionally, you'll have the chance to test your cooking skills by preparing meat from slain beasts or caught fish. With the right recipes, you can enhance specific attributes of your characters!
For example, by combining garula meat, gighee ham 5G, and aegir sprouts, you can create the special Longwhythe dish. This meal grants a 50% experience boost in battles against enemies. The mixed sandwich offers a 20% experience boost since the ingredients are more common. With xifocálamo breast, gighee ham, and aegir sprouts, you’ve got your sandwich ready!
Cooking is not merely about survival; it’s a strategic part of leveling up! By utilizing certain dishes, you can significantly enhance your combat experience. In a world where every bit of experience counts, make sure to invest time in cooking!
Equipment and Spells for Added Experience
Spells are another means to gain experience, aiding in your quest to level up in Final Fantasy 15. You will accumulate various items in your inventory that can be combined with your spells. By doing this, you can increase your experience through several effects.
- Ancient books (level 3 experience)
- Ancient coins (level 4 experience)
- Old banknotes (level 6 experience)
- Ancient platinum (level 8 experience)
- Rare coins (level 12 experience).
When it comes to equipment, certain items can help boost the experience you gain in Final Fantasy 15. As expected, you will need to explore extensively to find these items. Keep in mind that the object will only affect the character equipped with it during battles.

Luxurious Accommodations
However, one does not live by tents alone. As highlighted earlier, there is another way to level up in Final Fantasy 15. But this requires spending some “gil.” Unfortunately, nothing in life is free, and the same goes for Final Fantasy XV.
We're talking about hotels. Here, you can multiply the experience your heroes accumulate. During our travels, we discovered two hotels that offer an interesting “quality-price” ratio.
- Galdin Quay: Staying here costs 10,000 gil per night. In return, you will double your accumulated experience and level up in Final Fantasy 15.
- Altissia: Here, you can stay for 5,000 gil, which multiplies your experience by 1.5. Additionally, there’s an NPC at the hotel who, for 30,000 gil, will triple your accumulated experience. So, make sure your pockets are well-filled; leveling up in Final Fantasy 15 this way is definitely worth it!
Strategic Approach to Leveling Up
Considering everything outlined in this article, leveling up quickly in Final Fantasy 15 requires organization. First, equip the desired item to the character you wish to improve. Next, gather the necessary resources to ensure proper nourishment. Then, find a decent spot to camp and cook your favorite meals.
Between camping sessions, you will naturally battle all the enemies you can handle. As you defeat foes and complete missions, your experience will grow as well. Therefore, you know what to do: fight! During these encounters, also remember to cast spells combined with items whenever possible.
Once you have accumulated the desired experience, it's time to move to the next step: spend your gil. Battles not only improve your experience but also yield valuable gil rewards. And remember, gil is meant to be spent! So, with your pockets filled and experience gained, head to a hotel for some much-deserved rest. Inns will do too; don’t be too picky!
Quick Experience Farming Trick
Here’s a quick trick to farm experience fast in FF15. It involves using spells, food, and repeating certain fights that yield significant experience and gil. This way, you can easily jump several levels!
Understanding Experience vs. PH
It's important to clarify that you level up by gaining experience, while leveling up grants you PH. However, PH does not influence level increases. PH is used to purchase abilities; you can check out the complete Skill Tree of FF 15 for more information. If that interests you, we also explain everything you need to know about obtaining PH in FF 15.
